The Incredible Adventures of Princess Keira and her Friends, The Hot Air Balloon. This 760 page fantasy novel tells the story of three royal children who are shrunk to 6 cm by a well meaning wizard. During a storm, the three miniature children are lost in a pseudo medieval world called Zaldar. Their adventures and those of the search party sent out to find them makes for an incredible story played out on a huge map.

Islands of the Chimera. This story revisits H.G. Wells' story of the Island of Doctor Moreau. In Gertjan's story, a mad scientist is trying to design the ultimate soldiers by crossing human and animal DNA on secret islands in the Philippines.

An Other Pirate's Tale. Two friends who are impressed into the British Navy eventually become successful pirates and business leaders. This story has a very unique horror twist, leading to the protagonist's madness and death.

In the Game. Nearing completion of the first draft. This story is about a video game fanatic who gets trapped inside his favorite game.

Worm Tales. Twenty four funny short stories about anthropomorphic earth worms who live in Abigail and Larry Smith's garden in Edmonton. The central theme teaches the importance of organic gardening practices.

A Journey to the Underside. This incredible sci fi revisits Jules Verne's, A Journey to the Center of the Earth. In Gertjan's story a UofA professor leads a small group of grad. students down a gigantic air duct. Eventually they find their way to the underside of the Earth's crust. The story explores hollow earth theory.

PLAYS

IT'S ALL ABOUT EMPIRE, or Will the Real Jesus Christ Please Stand Up. Emperors Caligula and Nero, with their colleague, Adolf Hitler conduct interviews for the role of anti Christ.

THE WISE MEN ARE COMING, THE WISE MEN ARE COMING. A short Christmas play in three scenes, explores the day before, the day of, and the day after the birth of Christ.

METAMORPHOSIS. This play, in 8 scenes, explores the transformation of a conservative young school teacher who eventually freaks out and has a significant catharsis. The story explores the theme of the Beatle song, Eleanor Rigby.

SciFi CHRISTMAS STORY. This play won Gertjan a Literary Prize from the Edmonton Journal in 1982. The play was produced by Rosthern Junior College in Saskatchewan.

IN THE WINGS

Hanzel Sventska. This will be an other pirate tale revisiting the tales of Doctor Faustus. In this story, the cutthroat, Hanzel Sventska makes a pact with the devil in order to continue pirating for 100 years. After his time is up, the Devil takes him on a tour of Dante's Inferno in order to lead him to his final torments.
